Objectives

Provide within the next year a free Ada Component D evelopement Environment (ACDE) for Linux, which is targetet to the domain of  small client/server applications which are running on a Linux (or Unix) plattform. The environment shall provide tools and predefined components and a client/server frame work which allows a simple and reliable system construction. 

In order to meet the project objectives, the following topics have to be addressed:

• A component model has to be provided which allows easy and reliable construction of larger systems from small components.
• ACDE has to provide the basic components for targeted doamin.
• The developement process for new components and the construction of larger systems has to be supported by an integrated environment, which means a grafical editor. and a repository manager have to be part of the IDE.

License

The licens issue has not been considered yet. The basic idea will be to keep this project an open source project.
